The Kintyre course at Trump Turnberry is a Donald Steel’s re-creation of the old Arran course, which was originally laid out in 1909. Just like the Ailsa, the Arran was re-built by Philip Mackenzie Ross after the ravages of the Second World War.
With the addition of the new Kintyre course layout, Trump Turnberry can now boast two excellent links courses. Whilst it’s doubtful that the Kintyre will push the Ailsa off its pedestal, it is a great layout in its own right and it’s a welcome addition to the rich collection of links golf courses along this famous stretch of Ayrshire coastline.
