Host of the Open Championship in 2013, Muirfield is renowned amongst golfers as being perhaps the fairest test of all the Open venues. Rather than the 9 out / 9 back layout used by many links courses, Muirfield has two loops of holes – one clockwise, the other anticlockwise. Every hole has a different wind direction at the tee.
